Jim's Big Vote
THE RESULT
Nothing is more dificult, and therefore more precious, than to be able to decide.

OPEN LETTER TO JIM PENMAN
RE: JIM’S BIG VOTE
Here are the official results of the secure independent referendum, organised through VOTENET.
The vote closed on Friday 23rd October, 2009.
Q1 Do you want Jim to continue as CEO and owner of Jim’s Group? NO 84 %
Q2 Are you willing to take part in a class action for breach of contract YES 76 %
against Jim’s Group?
If you have any doubts about the accuracy and integrity of this vote I suggest you contact Votenet for reassurance.
In these unique circumstances, we set a target of a minimum of 50 votes to ensure that the results showed a true representation of the group view.
I am delighted to report that this target was comfortably met, even after your interference with the website, disingenuous promises of a “proper” vote, your usual misleading media spin, and a miraculous reversal of certain policies in a last ditch attempt at saving face.
In your media interviews last week you admitted that you did not enjoy majority support – what a damning confession for a CEO to make about his customers.
In the real commercial world you would be sacked immediately for gross misconduct and incompetence.
Your public statement that you only had 8 unhappy franchisors shows you as a complete liar or a CEO completely out of touch with your customers (or both).
As this was a vote of confidence referendum, you will be devastated to learn that your support didn’t even reach double figures.
I will release the full details of the voting numbers to you and others as soon as you announce the date of your promised vote, and confirm that the vote will be limited, as is the normal established policy, to only your customers, the franchisors.
On behalf of all the Franchisors I now ask you to accept the inevitable, do the honourable thing and step down as CEO, and put Jim’s Group up for sale, before its reputation is further damaged by the ongoing negative media exposure, and your inability to lead the Group to a successful future.
Yours in truth
Mrs Jimbo
