Jim just can't seem to get his numbers right!

Attrition rate

In one of the threads I mentioned our one year attrition rate as having come down to 5%. This is not quite right, so I'll provide the actual figures from Divisions with at least 60 Franchisees. Note that the one-year attrition has dropped for all divisions bar Cleaning and Computers, both of which I've required to set up an induction course with an intense focus on marketing (current franchisee numbers are on the right) One-year attrition rate for Franchisees signing: 1-4 years ago 1-2 years ago Mowing: 7.6% 5.5% 1677 Cleaning: 7.9% 8.3% 202 Fencing: 7.8% 5.1% 140 Antennas: 9.3% 8.3% 124 Test and Tag: 11.1% 4% 81 BM: 22% 0 79 Computers 7.6% 18.2% 64 Bookkeeping 5% 0 63 By comparison, of 65 Pools Franchisees ever signed in the past five years, 18 have left (27%) with five in the first year (7%), but Scott's Franchisor lost three of the seven Franchisees he signed (43%), and one of these in the first year (14%). Paul Carr's company, which has been running about the same time, has lost 19 out of 39 Franchisees signed who were not Franchisors (49%), five in the first year (13%). With proper selection and support, about 95% of our Franchisees survive the first year. Without, the attrition rate can be 3-4 times that. Scott Cooper's story shows the pain which happens when Franchisees are not looked after. And this is why I am quite happy to go to court in the UK rather than let Paul Carr continue in his position.

Statistics

To put the record straight, I've re-analysed these figures, which were given to me by one of my staff, and it seems our one year attrition rate is in the region of 10-12%. I've asked my IT people do provide a better report.

Statistics

Jim, this is your THIRD attempt at getting these very important ( and presumably not difficult to calculate) numbers right! I thought you always had your finger on the pulse and were a control freak. You must be losing your touch- are you spending too much time on attacking me at every opportunity?
Are you absolutely certain these are correct?
Is the member of staff still with you? Probably a family member so may be safe.
